This is a one-day workshop introducing and exploring the practice of Centering.Richard Rohr prescribes Centering as one of the five activities of the Journey of Illumination. Centering Prayer is used at Rohr’s Center daily, and is catching on with tens of thousands. Providing all the benefits of Mindfulness, Eastern, and other meditation practices, Centering Prayer is also rooted in the Christian tradition and may be more intuitive for most of us. How many people have difficulty finding a relationship with God, maybe even understanding what the phrase means? Centering Prayer can provide you with that higher connection which can fill the emptiness you have (and may not even have been aware of). This workshop, endorsed by Contemplative Outreach, Ltd., will teach the method of Centering Prayer, describe its fruits, and provide experiential practice. It is valuable to those who have never Centered, as well as those who have practiced Centering Prayer for years. Come and explore the experience and practice of Centering Prayer at the Carmelite Spiritual Center, an environment that is custom-made for prayer, regeneration and learning.
