It is the Lover Archetype that is often the most difficult for men to come to
terms with. How do we balance the feminine and masculine elements of
our being?
Some men are shocked when they learn how their indifference,
unconscious sexism, and insecure or toxic masculinity hurts or dishonors
the women in their lives. Some of it happens consciously while at other
times it is unconscious – totally beneath our level of awareness.
Illuman of Illinois is excited to host a day of reflection and sharing on April
29th at the Carmelite Spiritual Center. The first half of the day will offer
reflections on the Lover archetype in our lives, moving on to how masculine
and feminine embodiment are divine expressions of a Loving God. Saying
“Yes” to male and female incarnation.
After our exploration of the Lover Archetype is complete, we have invited a
panel of 3 women from the community to reflect on their experiences of
men in their lives – from childhood, family, marriage, professional or social
circles. This will be a unique opportunity to hear an unfettered
engagement with the masculine from the feminine perspective.
Join us on this day as we delve into this archetypal engagement and in
doing so move toward wholeness in our understanding of the divine
mystery encompassed in all of humanity.
Price: $65, includes a light breakfast, lunch, and program. Pre-registration
required by April 27. Call Carmelite Spiritual Center at 630-969-4141 or
